Life in Casper: Day 2

I was surprised that I had actually woken up without much hassle at 7am. I made sure to drink my first glass of water just after I woke up, I had also started a water drinking schedule to help me stay hydrated more while I was up here. Then Mikkola and I looked up some beginners yoga on YouTube. We ended up doing a 20 minute workout following these girls from the YouTube channel, PsycheTruth. The stretches were a bit challenging. I hadn't realized how stiff my entire body was. Though the workout was a bit challenging in some stretches, I found that my body did feel looser and better the rest of the day.

After our workout, we made some fruit smoothies with a bit of vanilla protein powder and spinach, just to add a few extra vitamins into our system. After that we decided to take Chey-Chey to one of the dog parks.

Chey-Chey still wasn't my biggest fan, but she had a blast at the Lake McKenzie dog park. It had been raining the days before I arrived, so the entire area was lush and green, with a lovely mini pond pooling around the center of the park. Chey-Chey happily ran around with the other dogs, but was careful not to move too far away from of us.

Mikkola and I walked around the dog park numerous times. I had a step counter on my phone, so the goal was to reach at least 5k steps, that way we had already made it halfway to the recommended goal. The lake was absolutely beautiful and I still regret not taking pictures of it while I was there. I'll have to see about going there again to get some!

When we were all done walking, and Chey had successfully soaked herself in the water, we went back to the apartment and dropped Chey off. Then we went back out to the mall and stopped at Torrid to try and find me a bathing suit. I had secretly dreaded this trip because I already knew that two piece bathing suits made me uncomfortable and looked terrible on me and the chances of finding a one piece that I liked, felt comfortable in, and wasn't too expensive were very slim. I didn't dare get my hopes up. Luckily, we were able to find one that was both cute and comfortable that I didn't feel so self-conscious in. I can't wait until we go to the pool so I can try it!

When all our shopping was done, we returned to the apartment and got dinner ready. Tonight we used one of the recipes I liked to make for my meal preps at home: healthy baked lemon chicken. Of course, Mikkola put her own twist tot he dish. Instead of lightly spooning some of the sauce over the chicken every 5-7 minutes, she just dumped the entire thing in a casserole dish with the chicken. Then she made some spaghetti noodles. When everything was done, we then served ourselves a piece of chicken with some noodles and then added some of the broth together in the bowl. I have to admit it was a delicious twist on the meal.

After we finished eating, Mikkola, Dar-Dar, and I all sat down to watch the sci-fi movie Annihilation. Dar-Dar crashed out about half way through the movie, but Mikkola and I watched it to the end. At one point there was this horrifying scene where a mutated bear had taken one of the female explorers away. When one of the other members of the group began to grow crazy from being inside the alien-like shimmer, they heard the previous woman screaming for help. It wasn't until the crazy one ran to save her that it was revealed that it was actually the bear making he sound! It had somehow absorbed the women's vocal cords and now every time it breathed or roared, it sounded like the woman screaming help me!

Seriously, how creepy is this thing?!
After Mikkola and I were thoroughly creeped out and somehow mind blown over the ending of the movie, we finally went to bed.
