Life in Casper: Day 3

Sunday.

A day where many other people would choose to take off from working out to rest their body. Well, not us! We woke up at 7am once again and did another yoga video. I could already feel my body bending easier than it had before. The workout was a bit harder than the previous day's but we managed to get through it. We ate breakfast, a delicious bowl of honey bunches of oats for me, then grabbed Shea-Butter to head out for our next adventure.

Morad Park!

Unlike the Lake McKenzie dog park, this park was open and filled with different trails that all moved around the North Platte River. It was a gorgeous park. That seemed to be the running theme with Casper: gorgeous lush and green parks. I loved it!

One of the trails we walked

We started walking around the river, and after a small incident where another dog got to excited and terrified Chey-Chey, we decided to kept her off the leash. Mikkola was skeptical at first, afraid that Shea-Butters wouldn't listen to her and would just run off, but she did almost exactly what she had done at the dog park. She never strayed too far away and always came back if she feared she'd gone a tad too far. As for the listening problem, she actually did a really good job! She listened and came back when she was called. I wish I could say the same about my dogs.

But back to Morad Park. Like I said, I absolutely loved it! The river was gorgeous. It was fun to see dogs swimming in the river and people kayaking down it. There were so many people there, but I didn't feel like it was too busy. The park was large enough that for the most part, we were alone on our walk.

After the walk, we returned to the apartment and took a much needed nap. Once that was done, we cleaned up the apartment. Chey-Chey's favorite thing was to tear up toys to pieces and then play with their carcasses until there is nothing left. As you can imagine, the floor was covered with stuffing and ripped pieces of toy. Poor thing never stood a chance. So we picked up as much of the big pieces as we could then vacuumed the rest.

After the living room was nice and clean, we sat down to watch this Chinese move called 'The Phantom of the Theatre'. We thought it would be a Chinese version of Phantom of the Opera, but nope. it was not. Still, for being a 'horror' movie, it wasn't really scary. In fact, we found ourselves transfixed with the movie! Sadly, we had to stop half way through so we could shower and get ready to meet Dar-Dar at the movies. We were finally going to see Deadpool 2!

The theatre was really nice! It had nice little screens outside each theatre that showed the movie poster of the movie and what time it was playing in that particular screen room. After getting our snacks, we sat down and enjoyed the crazy, funny, and somewhat emotional movie that was Deadpool 2! What can I say about it except that Ryan Reynolds has outdone himself! I won't give anything away, but it was really really good!

Once we were done, Makala and I were tired and Makala didn't want to cook, so we stopped by Burger King to grab some food. We were surprised to see that the sit in part of the restaurant was closed! It closed at 9pm! I couldn't believe it! So we went to the drive thru instead and got dinner. When we got back tot he apartment, we ate and watched the ID channel. After that we did our evening stretches and talked about the plans for the following day.

Dar-Dar had the day off, but it was Mikkola's first day going back to work. She had to be in at 8am for training. We decided that we wouldn't let this stop our summer routine, so we decided to wake up at 6am instead to get our morning yoga done. Hopefully I'll be able to wake up that early!
